New Music for the John Lennon Song Contest

Well, relatively new.  I’m still working to release material I’ve accumulated over the past five years or so.  At least this stuff isn’t as old as Shelter!  Not that old isn’t good.  It’s just exciting to be dipping into songs that reflect more of my current creative state.

And speaking of exciting, John Lennon has always been a musical hero of mine, so entering a contest with his name on it gives me little shivers.  I’m normally immune to starry-eyed hero-worship, but … well … John Lennon.

Anyway, without further ado, my two entries …

  • I Can Hear You – Electronica exploration of our undeniable common ground.
  • This Wishing Well – Country folk musings on the joy of this finite life.  Features my good friend Mike on guitars.

Both are available for free download.  Enjoy!

It’s obvious that when the apocalypse comes, I will be one of the weak people. I will have no spin kicks with which to defend myself. I will have only the magic of my words and my understanding to protect me. I will be meat for the beast. (Unless I can engage him in conversation.) And I am fine with that. If my death at monstrous hands becomes imminent, I hope I can meet it in a lounge chair, sipping on a gin martini.
