An abstract, according to Dictionary.com is something that concentrates in itself the essential qualities of anything more extensive or more general. I think this describes a picture perfectly. Plus it’s a frozen moment, so by default I have to be in the moment to take it! And for me, being in the moment is an ongoing aspiration.
